SHAME ON YOU FOR YOUR WHITE PRIVILEGE…

738

I cannot say enough how much I appreciate that those on left, whether they identify as Liberals, Progressives, Democrats, Socialist or even Communists would take the time to come up with a helpful ‘list’ that all of us white folks can use to determine just how truly despicable we all are.  Now of course I’m not serious and this list, called “10 Ways You Can Actively Reject Your White Privilege,” is really pretty humorous.  But while a certain amount of humor can be derived from reading it, it was at the same time that I couldn’t help but wonder what sort of person, or group of people, would take the time to compile such a list.  This list is what follows:

  1. Take up minimal space during anti-racism dialogues and protests.
  2. Stop contributing to gentrification and calling it “urban development.”
  3. Listen when people call you on your microaggressions.
  4. Never invite people of color to the table for the sake of claiming diversity.
  5. Refrain from using your non-white friends as your “urban dictionary.”
  6. Stop lifting up non-confrontational people of color as examples of what POC activism should be.
  7. Call your friends, family and co-workers out on racism – even if a POC isn’t in the room.
  8. Understand that all anti-racism work doesn’t look the same and advocate accordingly.
  9. Realize that all discussions about race aren’t for you. And be okay with it.
  10. Recognize that you’re still racist. No matter what.

While there’s much to laugh about regarding this rather idiotic little list, let’s take the time to make note of a few of the items mentioned.  First, how absolutely ridiculous to tell white people not to physically take up too much space at an anti-racism rally.  Isn’t that fat-shaming overweight white people by telling them they simply aren’t wanted as allies in this ongoing fight?  Also, it’s number that 4 advises us NOT to invite people of color to the table just for the sake of being “diverse”.  But does that same sentiment extend to such things as racial quotas in hiring and university admissions policies?  And if not, why not?

And as we move further down this little set of guidelines for us privileged white folks, it’s when we get to number 5 that things become equally amusing, because it would seem that you’re damned if you do and damned if you don’t ask a “person of color” what something confusing means.  God forbid you try to explain it yourself and end up being accused of “whitesplaining.”  But the best one, obviously, is the last.  If you’re a racist no matter what you do or say, then why go to all the effort?  I mean, if there is absolutely nothing I can do to alter the fact that I am racist, then I might as well choose to live with it, not stress about it and maybe even enjoy it.  Right?

Now in an effort to make my own little contribution to the ongoing discussion of white privilege, let me offer up my own personal list which can then be taken however anyone may choose to take it:

  1. Be proud of being white.
  2. Don’t apologize for being white.
  3. Talk to whoever you want whenever you want.
  4. Go where you want. If someone doesn’t like it, too bad.
  5. Don’t use urban slang, it just makes you sound like an uneducated moron.
  6. Continue being proud of being white.
  7. Don’t worry about whitesplaining, that’s just a nonsense word made up by imbeciles.
  8. Microaggressions are a myth created by the lazy and the excuses makers.
  9. Live the best life you can.
  10. Lists like this are racist. Non-whites are racist. And they are crybabies. It’s not your problem, it’s theirs.

And in an effort to get MY list up to 20, I offer up the following items for your consideration as well:

  1. Remind everyone that without white people none of the things they enjoy would be possible: phones, TV, cars, medicine, science, etc., etc.
  2. Become a “regular” dictionary so that your non-white friends have the opportunity to not sound like a moron from the ghetto
  3. Don’t go to any anti-racism dialogue or protest events. Heck they are already fat enough and take up too much space themselves.
  4. Look at someone who says you committed a “microaggression” like a moron…because they are.
  5. Diversity as a goal is stupid, so take the list above’s advice.
  6. Let the ghetto remain the ghetto, stay in the suburbs and build your real estate projects where they will not get looted the next time the non-whites are upset.
  7. If your friends or family say something that may be racist, just continue the conversation. Because really…isn’t everything racist these days anyway.
  8. Continue not giving a flip about conversations on racism, because it is about them not you.
  9. Realize that anti-racism work is useless and is targeted at a non-issue in society. Again, it is about them, not you.
  10. Just live your life, be as nice as you can so that you are not hurting others. And if you do that….it will be about them and not you.

And just out of my own curiosity what percentage of blackness is it, exactly, that permits one to identify as being ‘black’.  As a for instance, Barry “Almighty”, while being 50 percent white is still referred to as being a black man, yet someone like Clarence Thomas, Ben Carson, Tim Scott or Allen West, all of whom are 100 percent black, they are still routinely referred to as either not being black men, or as not being black ‘enough’.  So please excuse my confusion.  We all must know what percentage is required that in turn certifies ones right to refer to oneself as being, ‘black’.  Is there some sort of a test or law that will help us poor white folk?

But to tell you the truth I’m getting more than a little tired of all this idiotic nonsense.  So I have decided to, instead, embrace all of my ‘isms’ and ‘ists’ as well as all my ‘phobias’ and endeavor to turn micro aggressions into macro aggressions.  It is time to push back and push back as hard as I possibly can.  It’s time to start calling all this exactly what it is, pure unmitigated crap.  In the past Americans built on what came before them.  We took the mediocre and we made it better.  We took the good and made it great.  And what we made great we shared with the world.  The leftwing has to tear down everything, and it never builds anything up.

And, as far as I’m concerned, there seems to be very little reason to actually celebrate diversity, at least as it is defined by the left, because it’s rather skewed to say the least.  Because, you see, the left’s definition of diverse is rather one sided in that doesn’t include conservatism or capitalism or right wing politics.  So I say it again, I am tired of the left’s nonsense and therefore I shall enthusiastically embrace my white privilege, I shall practice macro aggressions at every opportunity.  And when they call me some ‘ist’ or ‘phobe’ I shall accept it with a great sense of compliment because they really have no idea what it means.

Personally, it’s to my way of thinking that this whole privilege-by-race-thing is completely ass-backwards.  Because from where I’m standing it’s the blacks who have most, if not all, of the privilege.  They’re the ones who get everything handed to them for ‘free’ with folks like me, an old white guy, being left to pick up the tab for all their freebies.  And all the while being left to cover all of my own expenses.  And does my daughter have white privilege because she needs higher test scores to get into college, or needs to take out more loans than do her black counterparts?   I’ve always said that when I come back I’m coming back black.

HILARIOUS, TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME CAUSING THE LEFT TO IMPLODE…

705

It was in pretty short order after President Trump announced his choice of Judge Neil Gorsuch to fill the vacant Supreme Court seat that we saw hordes of left-wing kooks begin to crawl out of the woodwork and spew what was really nothing more than incoherent nonsense.  And in demonstrating just how completely unhinged they have now become, it was the loons over at NARAL who released an online statement in which they described Judge Gorsuch in a way that only they could.  This statement said in part, “He represents an existential threat to legal abortion in the United States and must never wear the robes of a Supreme Court justice.”  Isn’t it sad that women can be so cold as to regard the killing of babies as political.

Of course there were a number of other pro-abortion groups that were quick to jump on the bandwagon.  Apparently they agree with this rather skewed, and less than honest, perception of Trump’s choice.  In fact it was Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards who went so far as to use Judge Gorsuch in a fundraising letter calling for supporters to donate.  This rather twisted bitch said, “Donald Trump’s nominee, Neil Gorsuch, has an alarming history of interfering with reproductive rights and health. He ruled that bosses should be able to deny women access to birth control coverage.”   And it was also from this the largest provider of abortions in the country that we also saw the creation of hashtag #NoRoeNoGo for activists to share.

And it was Sierra Club Executive Director Michael Brune, who described Gorsuch as “more extreme than Justice Scalia.”  And it was this same crackpot who later said in a statement, “Gorsuch has proven himself hostile to environmental protection, women’s rights, and the rights of workers and cannot be trusted to protect our air, our water, or our communities.”   And the ‘climate change’ alarmist group NextGen is also opposed to Gorsuch’s nomination.  Billionaire ‘climate change’ believer Tom Steyer released a statement of his own that said, “In light of Trump’s despotic tendencies and Russia’s role in his election, the Senate must reject any nominee whose allegiance to our Constitution and our most fundamental rights is in doubt.”

Look, I think we all know that the state-controlled media complex will do all that it can to denigrate Judge Gorsuch and gladly to provide all manner of cover to those Democrats willing to vote against him.  Where was the state-controlled media when all the factories and jobs left our country?  I think most of can agree that both the media and their Democrat masters very much want to see our Constitution gone and our country destroyed.  Last night, they were saying he is unfit to serve because he is “biased”.  What? Ever heard of ‘Ruth Buzzy’ Ginsberg?  She’s as politically biased as they come. These people are the scum of the Earth, and if you have never seen what evil looks like, the Democrat Party is evil personified.

Like we who genuinely love this country really give a sh!t about what those who view themselves as social justice warriors may think.  Let’s be real shall we. We’ve all had it with those on the left and most of us really can’t wait for Trump to do some kind of major smack down of the media and the Democratic Party, which are really one in the same. We are all waiting for the next fake news outburst and Trump’s asking us to boycott all fake news outlets like MSNBC, ABC News, NY Times, Washington Post and MSNBC, which most of us already do.  You think America’s enemies on the left hate Trump now, just wait. It’s going to get far worse and as long as we are here to support Trump, we will all win and guarantee the future for our children and grandchildren.

And if we really want to talk about those who are nowhere near to being qualified to sit on the high court, then we need to talk about Barry’s two picks, Justices Sotomayor and Kagan.  Neither are deserving of the elevation to court and both were openly political even during their confirmation hearings.  And yet, there they now sit in their lifetime position.  The panic brought about by Judge Gorsuch is because the left realizes that its strategy is in danger.  For decades, they have counted on the courts to essentially bypass Congress and make law.  Those laws not changed in the Legislative branch, but simply overturned by the courts.  Examples like Roe v Wade, which legalized infanticide without any law ever being passed that allows it.

The Court has essentially become the Left’s primary weapon of choice.  It has intended to use it to institute gun control in the face of a Republican Congress.  Now that’s in jeopardy because Trump’s seeks to load the courts with young mini-Scalias. The Left is realizing that conservatives have a chance to cut them off for the next 30 years.  Be prepared for the fight of the century over this man.  The interesting thing to me is the pattern of redefining America. They know they can’t say that they want to destroy America.  Barry tried to soften the blow by calling it “fundamental transformation.”  Eventually, it became a rallying crying for the Tea Party and he had to drop the words.  But he never dropped the idea, nor did his allies.

The left in this country has been very determined in their attempts to redefine “American” to mean “Progressive.”  According to those on the left as well as their media cohorts, if you’re not in favor of unbridled immigration, they say you’re anti-American and if you’re not in favor of abortion, they say you’re unAmerican for opposing women’s “rights.”  And also according to them it’s if you support balanced trade agreements that don’t amount to wealth redistribution to the 3rd world, you’re un-American and if you support sane environmental policy but don’t want to sacrifice jobs for river minnows and salamanders, you’re unAmerican.  But if the last 7 years have proven anything it’s that they have been less than successful in that endeavor.

This ‘shift’ from the legislative branch to the judicial branch is an effort by the left to advance their anti-America agenda is a very powerful shift because it allows grandstanding Democrats to invoke patriotism and sound like good people while fundamentally opposing those who are the genuine patriots among us.  From the perspective of the left it would seem that judicial fiat is now favored over the legislative process.  Which is why the electing of Donald Trump as president was absolutely imperative if we were to have any hope of salvaging what’s left of our country.  Can you imagine how disastrous it would have been for this country, and every legal citizen of it, had Hitlery won the election?  I shudder to think.

TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME SPREADS TO THE FLOOR OF THE U.S. HOUSE…

donkey-05

I’ve often wondered how it is that Democrat politicians are able to so casually defend one of their own against claims they possess the very same character traits that they routinely use in their attempts to smear and/or slander Republicans, as well as anyone else who disagrees with them.  For instance, it was just this past Wednesday that a Democrat congressman took to the floor of the House and, in a speech to those House members present, proceeded to say that the next president of the United States is a bigot, a demagogue, a liar, a sexual predator as well as a con artist.  True or not similar things that were also said about ‘Slick Willy’ Clinton and yet he was staunchly defended by Democrats.  So who was this individual who thought it so appropriate to say such things?  Rep. Ruben Gallego, who during his little rant from the House floor at the end of the day’s proceedings, claimed that President-elect Donald Trump could not be treated like any other politician or like any other Republican.

And it was then that this sleazy little shit who went on to say, “Because he is not. Trump represents something much more dangerous.”  And then this dolt went on to say, “While none of us want to be in this case, we have a duty to treat him like the threat that he is – a threat to our values, a threat to our people, and a threat to our national identity.”  Gallego noted that Trump is 70 years old, and he said it was unrealistic to expect him to change and then proceeded to call Trump, in turn, a “sexual predator,” “a demagogue,” “a bigot,” “a liar” and a “con artist.”  I am curious about one thing though, how is it that this hypocrite, Mr. Gallego, would choose to describe his candidate in this most recent presidential election?  What words would he use in describing someone who exposed an untold amount of our nation’s classified information to a yet undetermined number of those who are clearly adversaries of this nation?

This boob, Gallego, said Trump would not be an ordinary president.  He said, “Rather than helping him protect the country, we must protect the country from the new president.”  After further criticism of Trump’s actions, policies, business activities, and transition-related controversies, Gallego concluded by saying many shared the “fervent hope” that the president-elect does not govern the same way as he has campaigned.  He said, “Here in Congress, however, we cannot afford to give him that benefit of the doubt. We must not lift a finger to help him scam our country.”  And then he finally added, “We must instead put every effort into stopping him.”  Gallego, is a former member of the Arizona House of Representatives and was elected to the U.S. Congress in 2014.  And oddly enough this guy is also supposed to be an ex-Marine and Iraq War veteran, which likely explains how he ended up on the House Armed Services Committee.

And then we had yet another Democrat, Rep. Mike Quigley, who also took to the House floor and proceeded to make his claim that Donald Trump’s policy ideas will expose “billions world-wide to loss of life” and will “imperil the unique and fragile ecosystems that make the United States a wonder of the world.”  And it was also from the House floor, this past Wednesday, that Quigley chose to criticize Trump’s suggestions of pulling out of the Paris Agreement on ‘climate change’ and suggesting the creation of new coal jobs.  It was this same moron who said, “As we stand here today, representatives from 195 nations, including our own, are meeting in Morocco to discuss how the world will move forward to implement the historic Paris Agreement forged last December.”  And I have no doubt that this clown is one of those who enthusiastically agrees with John Kerry-Heinz in describing ‘climate change’ as being more of a threat to America than is Islamic terror.

Quigley said, “Yet, in that same one-year span, the President-Elect used his campaign for our country’s highest office to promote policy ideas that would not only pollute the planet, but expose millions of Americans and billions world- wide to loss of life, livelihood, and property.”  And this then genius went on to say, “If these dangerous ideas are put into action, they will imperil the unique and fragile ecosystems that make the United States a wonder of the world.”  Among the ideas Quigley focused on was the suggestion of creating jobs in the coal industry.  He said, “We’ve heard talk about bringing back coal and creating new coal jobs like it is flipping a switch. The fact is, though, that the economic decline in the coal industry and in coal communities is driven by market forces, not government policy.” He added, “Climate change is real, it is happening, and it is man-made. The science is settled with 97% of climate scientists in strong, steadfast agreement.”

Such false, and patently idiotic, accusations tell us far more about these accusers than the one whom they are now so busy attacking.  The vile comments made, and blatant told, by these two rabid ideologues really have no place in Congress, and they should, but probably won’t, be reprimanded for making them.  Both these men are really a piece of work.  A couple of veritable crybabies about whom I’m quite sure their constituents are very proud.  They’re throwing a temper tantrum for no other reason than because their candidate lost.  It’s behavior typical of those on the immature left, where the only thing they know is to lash out wildly in hope they make something land.  Sorry guys, but the state-controlled media has been doing that for over a year now, with no, or very limited, success. You won’t do any better. You may, however, find yourself out a job come next election cycle.  And wouldn’t be so very fitting.

ELIZABETH WARREN, HEARING ‘THE DONALD’ IN HER HEAD???

warren 01

You know, I can’t help but wonder what it must be like to be a Democrat in 2016 and know that all of your hopes for maintaining control of the White house are now riding on someone likely Hitlery Clinton.  Because I gotta tell ya, you can say what you want about Trump, but at least he’s not currently under investigation by the FBI and he doesn’t have a potential indictment, no matter how unlikely, hanging over his head.  Which, I guess brings me now to the esteemed senior senator from ‘The Bay State”, Elizabeth Warren and her rather bizarre preoccupation with ‘The Donald.’

Warren has had this fixation about Trump for some time, but things appear to have moved on to what is now a whole new level.  A level where she simply can’t bring herself to stop talking about, or apparently thinking about, the presumptive Republican nominee, Donald J. Trump.  And whether it’s in her public statements or her rather idiotic comments made on social media, these days the woman Donald Trump has dismissed as “The Indian?” is talking about little else, and she’s not hiding the fact that she is scared at the prospects of a Trump presidency.

And it was recently, at the Massachusetts Democrat convention, which I’m sure was a rather bizarre gathering to say the least, that Warren was heard to say, “Now, we’ve talked for a long time about important elections, when John Kerry took on W, when Obama fought McCain — very important races.”  She went on to say, “But today, we have something new, a presidential contest that isn’t just important; it’s downright scary. And we all know the reason why: the big, loud — and I mean loud — elephant in the room, Donald Trump.”  She’s so witty, don’t you think?

Anyway, Warren went on to say, “Could any of us have imagined that people all over the United States would be begging Mitt Romney to run for president?”  she then told the room full of Democrats, “Come on, okay, and look, it’s some of you begging him, too, right? It’s okay. You can admit it. You’re among friends here.”  And a quick review of her Twitter account shows just how fixated she is on Trump. Forty-five of her last forty-seven tweets to her more than 450,000 followers were either directly tagged at Donald Trump or were obviously referring to him.

And something that makes very clear just how far left the Democrat Party has now moved, many actually consider Warren a leading candidate to be Hitlery’s running mate.  Would that not be the socialist ‘Dream Team’?  A team that, if elected, would easily bring about the demise of America.  Now while America, over the course of the last 7 years has been reduced to being little more than a laughingstock, electing these two inept morons would only serve to make matters worse.  It’ll be bad enough if Hitlery is elected without a Warren-like vice-president.

And let’s face it, what candidate besides Trump would have the guts to call Warren, Pocahantas, The Indian, or goofy. I mean can you picture a Bush or a Kasich or even a Christie saying that?  I laugh every time I think about it.  And he seems to have gotten into her head on a pretty significant level.  But he also seems to have gotten into head of many of those who comprise our political talking heads, and it’s getting rather amusing to hear them make excuses for their wrong choices.  Most just can’t get over the fact their guy, or gal, didn’t win.

And let’s be real, the only ones, and I mean the ONLY ones, who want Romney to run again are Democrats and the #nevertrump crowd because he’d be a pretty easy electoral target.  Let’s face it, he had his chance, and he demonstrated that he just doesn’t possess the willingness to do what needs to be done in order to win against these sleazy, scumbag Democrats.  Which is why, I think, he’s so jealous of Trump. Because if there is one thing that Trump has made pretty clear, it’s that he isn’t afraid to go at them, Warren included, head on.

Over the course of the last several decades I’ve lost count of how many times I wished that those on my side would approach this game called politics just a bit more like how it is that those on the other side approach it.  And now that someone on my side, more or less, is doing just that I’m not about to get all squeamish about it.  Because if I’m going down, I’d much rather at least go down swinging than just lying down.  Those on the left have never shied away from doing or saying whatever they felt needed to be done or said because, as they say, elections have consequences.

If anything, Trump is managing to prove at least one major truism:  That being, we don’t need Humility in a leader now!  America is, quite literally, being destroyed from the inside by the most ridiculous Marxist/Racist Nannybots imaginable, those who hound us constantly in their attempt to force us into accepting their ridiculous and perverted ideas. Tranny bathroom privileges are but the most recent on a long list of many.  Leadership in America is simply a dishonest, pathetic union of Liars and Dissemblers because they know there is no one held accountable.

We don’t need a quiet, humble multicultural bowl of oatmeal. What we need is a guy who’s willing to do what’s needed, to put a fist in their mouth, figuratively speaking of course, one who will tell them to lead, follow or get the F out of the way so somebody else can; and one who does not bend to whiners who claim ” What if”, every 7 seconds. Someone with the ego and the willpower to put rampant leftist lunacy in its place, and do it without apologizing.  While I haven’t been on the Trump train from the beginning, there is a reason he has come to be the last man standing.

IN POLITICS, WHAT’S GOOD FOR THE GOOSE, AIN’T SO GOOD FOR THE GANDER…

Schumer 12

Isn’t it amazing how Democrats are rarely, if ever, confronted with their hypocrisy and how it is that our limp-wristed, politically-biased, state-controlled media continually allow them to get away with past statements.  And what I’m making particular reference to here are statements that have been made about the appointing of Supreme Court justices and how it “doesn’t matter” what Democrats may have said on this particular subject in the past.

Such is the case with, none other than, Chuckie Schumer and ‘Slow Joe’ Biden.  Schumer’s recent remarks refer to the Republican-controlled senate’s assertion that it will not, at least for now, consider Barry’s pick to replace Justice Antonin Scalia on the Supreme Court but will, instead, wait until the next president is elected.  Several Democrats have already complained, even ‘demanded’, that the Republicans give Barry’s choice a hearing in their “advise and consent” role.

However past statements from both ‘Slow Joe’ Biden and Chuckie Schumer would seem to conflict with what we’re now hear coming from Democrats.  Statements that make it clear that these two hacks had no problem whatsoever with blocking Supreme Court nominees when the power structure was in their favor and the president making an appointment was a Republican.  But now because the shoe is now on the other foot, the whining about the injustice of it all is in full swing.

As I am quite sure you most likely have all heard by now, unless you’ve been living under a rock somewhere, how it was that back in 2007, how Chuckie was heard to say, “We should reverse the presumption of confirmation.”  And he would go on to say, “The Supreme Court is dangerously out of balance. We cannot afford to see Justice Stevens replaced by another Roberts, or Justice Ginsburg by another Alito.”  But it’s ok to have Justice Scalia replaced by another Kagan?

And then we heard in 1992 how ‘Slow Joe’ Biden, then a Delaware senator and Chairman of the Judiciary Committee was heard to say, “It would be our pragmatic conclusion that once the political season is underway — and it is — action on a Supreme Court nomination must be put off until after the election campaign is over.”  And ‘Slow Joe’ would go on to say, “That is what is fair to the nominee and essential to the process.”  So I guess what was fair then, isn’t fair today?

And it’s only after fast forwarding to 2016 that we now hear Schumer singing what is a different tune saying, “Look, the simple answer to this, which everyone is saying everywhere is, ‘Do your job.’ It doesn’t matter what anybody said in the past. Do your job. It’s working,” Schumer said. “We should do our job.”  So what’s he saying, that the Senate needs to do its job today, but back in 2007 it didn’t?  I’m sorry, but I’m so confused, but then I’m not an empty-headed Democrat.

As far as I’m concerned these videos, these blasts from the past, should now be placed on what is a continuous loop, playing over and over again, 24/7 from now and for at least the next 9 months.  Not that we’d be able to shame such consummate ideologues like Schumer, but simply because it’s such a wonderful opportunity to display their ultimate-hypocrisy and double-standards for all the world to see, from now all the way up to Election Day.

Of course the goal of the left, which should be obvious to all, is to put another activist on the bench to further destroy the Second Amendment and trash our God given rights. Congress and the Senate had better wait until next year or there will be Hell to pay.  And as expected ‘Dingy Harry’ Reid has begun making all manner of threats about bringing pressure to bear on the Republicans, so I suppose it’s only a matter of time before we have one more, on what is a long list of many, caves!

DEMOCRATS, JUST MAKING IT UP AS THEY GO ALONG…

053

Now we all know, or should know, about all of the hoopla that has resulted from the Republicans putting forth their argument that it should be the next president, Democrat or Republican, who nominates a Supreme Court justice to replace Justice Scalia.  But how different things were in 1992 when, during a speech from the Senate floor, then Senator, ‘Slow Joe’ Biden said that President George H. W. Bush should wait until after the presidential election and let his successor fill any Supreme Court vacancy.  And yet, oddly enough, it’s this same rules that never seem to apply to Democrats.

It was June 25, 1992 when it was ‘Slow Joe’ who, from the floor of the Senate, was heard to say, “It is my view that if a Supreme Court Justice resigns tomorrow or within the next several weeks or resigns at the end of the summer, President Bush should consider following the practice of a majority of his predecessors and not – and not – name a nominee until after the November election is completed.”  So why is it then, do you suppose, that the actions of Barry’s predecessors is now considered as being nothing more than a guideline, of sorts, and has become suitable for ignoring?

‘Slow Joe’ would then go on to say, “If the president goes the way of Fillmore and Johnson and presses an election year nomination the Senate Judiciary Committee should seriously consider not scheduling confirmation hearings on the nomination until after the political campaign season is over.”  So if this was such a good idea then, why, suddenly, is it not such a good idea today?  Could it be because the most leftist president in our history, along with many members of his party, now see an opportunity to tilt the court very sharply to the left and, quite possibly, for decades?

As they say even a blind squirrel finds a nut once and awhile, and so it was in one of those very rare occasions where ‘Slow Joe’ has actually been known to make a certain amount of sense, that he said, “Others may fret that this approach would leave the court with only eight members for some time, but as I see it Mr. President, the cost of such a result – the need to reargue three or four cases that will divide the justices four-to-four are quite minor compared to the cost that a nominee, the president, the Senate and the nation would have to pay for what would assuredly be a bitter fight.”

But isn’t it amazing how it is that the rules are always made to change from when there is a Republican in the White House to when there is a Democrat occupying the Oval Office.  And I know it’s not just my imagination because I’ve seen it take place so often over the course of my life.  And granted, I know if it was currently the other way around the Republicans would be pushing for an appointment with the Democrats standing opposed.  But I think we can all agree that the Democrats could be counted upon to be much more resolute in their opposition than the Republicans are likely to be.
