It would seem that these days the ONLY way one can possibly hope to be taken seriously as a ‘journalist’ by your fellow ‘journalists’, is to, above all else, be a very vocal, as well as an enthusiastic supporter of impeaching Donald Trump. So I’m sure that those of us who see Chris Wallace for what he is, bother him little more than a cloudy day. Because as long as he is considered a member in good standing within the Hate-Trump media, that’s all he really needs. That the rest of us see him as being little more than the class clown or, worse, simply a hack, but most definitely NOT as a serious ‘journalist’, bothers him not in the least.
So in describing the goings on of the first day of this ‘impeachment inquiry,’ it was once again one of the many resident Trump haters there at Fox News, Chris Wallace, who did so in what was near orgasmic intensity. So what, exactly, was this impeachable offense that seemed so obvious to Chris but that so many others seemed to have missed? Now I know I am nowhere near the accomplished member of the press that Chris is, which has to be the only possible explanation why I must have missed that which Chris seemed to think was so obvious and most impressively stated why the impeachment of President Trump is so necessary.
It was during Wednesday’s impeachment inquiry coverage on Fox News that Wallace called former U.S. ambassador to Ukraine William Taylor’s testimony “very damaging to the president.” Wallace said, “I think that William Taylor was a very impressive witness and was very damaging to the president. He took very copious notes at almost every conversation. When he put quotes in his opening statement, he said those were direct quotes from what was said.” Now I must admit that I spent not a minute of my day watching any of this clown show, but I heard no actual journalist who took the time to agree with Wallace’s assessment.
Anyway, Wallace went on to add, “It also doesn’t hurt that he has a voice like Edward R. Murrow. So he is a pretty impressive presence up there. I think very nonpolitical. He went out of his way to talk about what he knew, what he was specifically testament to. The only thing he talked about was a strong feeling that it was in the U.S. national security interests to support Ukraine in the fight against Russia. But he certainly wasn’t taking any partisan position.” So was this guy actually watching the same goings on as so many others were and who were nowhere near as orgasmic about what it was that they had witnessed?
Impressive? Really, Chris? If anything, at least from what I heard from those far more reliable than old Chris, both of these grandstanding witnesses did absolutely nothing to bolster that case of Schiff & Co. I’m inclined to believe that it did far more damage than it did any amount of good. But let’s be honest, it doesn’t really matter, because what’s going on here is really nothing more than just a formality, and an attempt to persuade at least some Americans that’s what’s really going on isn’t merely a political lynching. Democrats will impeach him anyway because they have the votes, no evidence but enough votes.
Sorry, but reporting third, fourth, fifth and six hand news nothing more than gossip, not damaging evidence. Who even watches Chris Wallace anymore, the same folks who watch ‘The View’? The night Trump won the election, it was Wallace who announced that America had just elected their first independent candidate as President. Wallace knew what party Trump was a member and who voted for him, but refused to even acknowledge him as being a Republican. That says it all, and so much for journalistic objectivity. And it has only gotten worse since then. Wallace is worse than Smith was, or Cavuto is. A complete hack.
I’m pretty much done with this topic. Let’s face it, any wrongdoing by the president that somehow requires his entire term to be investigated can, I think, be considered as being a complete waste of time. Either you have actual proven firsthand knowledge of some crime or you don’t, and if you don’t then you’re doing nothing more than speculating. Frankly I don’t understand why Donald Trump is the first sitting president to be prosecuted daily by an out of control, and obviously left wing media, and few seem to actually care. It’s baffling how this is being passed off as okay, conversations between world leaders are none of my business
I’m sure there are those who once thought, despite the fact he has openly admitted he’s a registered Democrat, that Wallace had some degree of veracity, fairness, and, yes, even intelligence. But with his constant haranguing, Wallace has proven us to be WRONG on all counts. A mumbling, stumbling ‘star witness’ who admits to making opinions based on second, third, and even fourth-hand hearsay does not offer “damaging” testimony. For Wallace make such a claim he is either 1) misinformed, 2) a liar or 3) just plain stupid. If he had any credibility left, he just blew it up with his asinine comments.
Wallace no longer even pretends to be objective or, for that matter, even fair. And to suggest the pitch of someone’s voice, somehow gives them credibility is something that only a true imbecile would say. Perhaps, since Wallace himself talks like he has his mouth full of marbles, someone who articulates clearly might be impressive. But, the more Wallace speaks these days, the more he loses a little more of what credibility it is that he may have once actually possessed. Fox News Sunday once had a superb talent as host. His name was Tony Snow. And a punk like Wallace falls far short of ever being able to fill Tony’s shoes.
